Product:Bovine Aspartyl-tRNA synthetase, cytoplasmic (DARS) ELISA Kit
Description:This Bovine Aspartyl-tRNA synthetase, cytoplasmic (DARS) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate DARS in samples. An antibody specific for DARS has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyDARS present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for DARS is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of DARS bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Background:Aspartyl-tRNA synthetase, cytoplasmic (DARS) protein is a member of a multienzyme complex that functions in mediating the attachment of amino acids to their cognate tRNAs. The encoded protein ligates L-aspartate to tRNA(Asp). Mutations in this gene have been found in patients showing hypomyelination with brainstem and spinal cord involvement and leg spasticity.Diseases associated with DARS include Hypomyelination With Brainstem And Spinal Cord Involvement And Leg Spasticity and Spasticity. Among its related pathways are Metabolism and Alanine and aspartate metabolism. GO annotations related to this gene include nucleic acid binding and nucleotide binding.
