More Information
Product Name Alpha-1-microglobulin
Description
Product Code:13-3007
Product:Alpha-1-microglobulin
Background:This gene encodes a complex glycoprotein secreted in plasma. The precursor is proteolytically processed into distinct functioning proteins: alpha-1-microglobulin, which belongs to the superfamily of lipocalin transport proteins and may play a role in the regulation of inflammatory processes, and bikunin, which is a urinary trypsin inhibitor belonging to the superfamily of Kunitz-type protease inhibitors and plays an important role in many physiological and pathological processes. This gene is located on chromosome 9 in a cluster of lipocalin genes.
Synonyms:AMBP, A1M, HCP, ITI, UTI, EDC1, HI30, ITIL, IATIL, ITILC
Source:
  • Prepared from urine of patients with chronic renal tubular proteinuria. Blood sample from the tissue donors was tested and found negative
  • for HBsAg, HIV-1&2 antibodies, HCV and Syphilis
Molecular Weight:SDS-PAGE shows one major band consistant with a molecular weight of approx. 30,000. Immunological identity verified by Ouchterlony immunodiffusion Protein determined by the method of Lowry. E280: 1.58
Purity:Greater than 98% determined by SDS-PAGE.
Form:Purified protein, in 0.02M NH4HCO3. It may contain traces of buffer salts
Storage:2-8C for immediate use, or at -20C (aliquot)
Notes:Because no test method can offer complete assurance that products derived from human source will not transmit infectious agents, it is recommended that this product be handled with the same precautions used for patient specimens.
