More Information
Product Name Anti-c-Jun (phospho Ser63) Antibody
Description Rabbit polyclonal antibody to c-Jun (phospho Ser63).
Host Rabbit
Clonality Polyclonal
Conjugate Unconjugated
Immunogen Phospho-specific peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ser63 of human c-Jun.
Isotype IgG
Target c-Jun
Specificity This antibody recognises proto-oncogene c-Jun, also known as V-jun avian sarcoma virus 17 oncogene homolog and p39, when phosphorylated at serine 63.c-Jun is a member of the Jun family of transcription factors and is a subunit of the AP-1 transcription factor. c-Jun dimerizes with c-Fos, JDP and ATF family members to form the AP-1 transcription factor. AP-1 is activated by a variety of stimuli including cytokines, stress and growth factors and plays a critical role in cellular processes ranging from proliferation to apoptosis.c-Jun is phosphorylated at serine 63 and serine 73 by MAPK8 (SAPK1/JNK1) and PLK3, resulting in c-Jun mediated transcription (Wang et al. 2007, Vleugel et al. 2006). c-Jun has been implicated in early tumor development, invasion and metastasis while c-Jun phosphorylated at serine 63 has been proposed to play a role in intestinal tumor progression.
