More Information
Product Name Anti-Collagen Type III Polyclonal Antibody
Description This gene encodes the pro-alpha1 chains of type III collagen, a fibrillar collagen that is found in extensible connective tissues such as skin, lung, uterus, intestine and the vascular system, frequently in association with type I collagen. Mutations in this gene are associated with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome types IV, and with aortic and arterial aneurysms. Two transcripts, resulting from the use of alternate polyadenylation signals, have been identified for this gene.
Synonyms COL3A1, EDS4A
Clonality Polyclonal
Immunogen Human placental type III collagen
Specificity This antibody is reactive with most collagen type III. Cross-reactivity of less than 1% with other collagens was detected by ELISA. Non-specific cross-reaction with other human serum proteins or non-collagen extracellular matrix proteins is negligible. Reactivity will be diminished with denatured collagen or formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues. It works best on non-denatured tissues.
Reactivity Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat
Applications ELISA, IHC, WB
Form Purified IgG
Storage 2-8C for immediate use, or at -2°C (aliquot)
