| Specificity | This antibody recognises C-X-C motif chemokine 7 (CXCL7), also known as Platelet Basic Protein, a platelet derived growth factor belonging to the C-X-C subfamily of chemokines. Expression of CXCL7 is largely restricted to platelets where it is produced as an inactive precursor. Upon tissue injury or infection, CXCL7 is one of the first chemokines to appear at the focal sites to mediate neutrophil recruitment after it has been modified by a series of cleavage and activation steps. CXCL7 mediates neutrophil recruitment through binding of its receptors CXCR1 or CXCR2.CXCL7 has been noted as playing important roles in tumorigenesis and has been associated with the proliferation and metastasis of a range of tumor types. Serum CXCL7 serves as a diagnostic biomarker in colorectal cancer, lung cancer and renal cell carcinoma samples (Li et al. 2019, Kinouchi et al. 2017, Du et al. 2018) suggesting that serum CXCL7 may be a sensitive and specific biomarker for the diagnosis of these cancer types.The biotinylated Mouse anti Human CXCL7 antibody, clone C06-4A3 (MCA6225B) can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human CXCL7 antibody, clone C11-5G10 (MCA6224GA) as the capture antibody. |
