More Information
Product Name Anti-LRP/a2MR (515 kDa); CD91 Monoclonal Antibody, Biotin
Description The protein encoded by this gene is an endocytic receptor involved in several cellular processes, including intracellular signaling, lipid homeostasis, and clearance of apoptotic cells. In addition, the encoded protein is necessary for the A2M-mediated clearance of secreted amyloid precursor protein and beta-amyloid, the main component of amyloid plaques found in Alzheimer patients. Expression of this gene decreases with age and has been found to be lower than controls in brain tissue from Alzheimer patients. Mouse Monoclonal Antibody to LRP/a2MR (515 kDa); CD91 BIOTIN
Synonyms APR, LRP, A2MR, CD91, APOER, LRP1A, TGFBR5, IGFBP3R
Clone 8G1
Immunogen Human LRP/a2MR
Isotype IgG1
Specificity Mab 8G1 specifically reacts with the 515 kDa alpha chain of human LRP/alpha2MR which is expressed in a restricted spectrum of cell types. A strong immunohistochemical reaction is seen in hepatocytes, tissue macrophages, subsets of neurons and astrocytes in the central nervous system, fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and monocyte-derived foam cells in atherosclerotic lesions in the arterial wall. The antibody can also be used for the characterization of a subset of myelo- monocytic subtypes of chronic and acute leukemia (CD91).
Reactivity Human
Applications FC, IF, IHC, WB
Form Purified (Protein A), in PBS containing 1% BSA and 0.1% sodium-azide
Storage 2-8C for immediate use, or at -20C (aliquot)
