More Information
Product Name Anti-Lung Cancer-Associated Antigen MOC-31 Monoclonal Antibody
Description The monoclonal antibody MOC-31 is reactive with most epithelia and with all lung carcinomas. The membrane associated antigen appear to have a molecular weight of 35-40 kD. MOC-31 is unreactive with normal and malignant mesothelia and therefore is especially useful for the detection of carcinoma cells in ascitis of pleural effusions. MOC-31 was defined as a clustered antibody during the Second International Workshop on Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) Antibodies. During the First International Workshop on Small Cell Lung Cancer Antigens in London, April 1987, specific antibodies have been catagorized accord- ing to their reactivity patterns. MOC-31 belongs to the so-called cluster 2" reactivity pattern. In Western blotting the antibody reacts with a 40 kD mem- brane-associated protein present in most epithelia and in all lung carcinomas. MOC-31 is unreactive with normal and malignant mesothelium and there- fore especially useful for the detection of carcinoma cells in ascites or pleural effusions.
