More Information
Product Name Anti-Plectin Polyclonal Antibody
Description Plectin is a prominent member of an important family of structurally and in part functionally related proteins, termed plakins or cytolinkers, that are capable of interlinking different elements of the cytoskeleton. Plakins, with their multi-domain structure and enormous size, not only play crucial roles in maintaining cell and tissue integrity and orchestrating dynamic changes in cytoarchitecture and cell shape, but also serve as scaffolding platforms for the assembly, positioning, and regulation of signaling complexes
Synonyms PLEC, HD1, PCN, EBS1, EBSO, PLTN, PLEC1, LGMD2Q, PLEC1b
Clonality Polyclonal
Immunogen C-terminal C domain of human recomb. Plectin (aa 4367 - 4684),Stabilized Serum,Human (but non-reactive with glia cells); reduced cross-reactivity with Fish and Xenopus laevis; negative with Bovine and murine tissue,Calculated MW 532,000 protein plectin, localizing to plasma membrane attachment sites of intermediate filaments and microfilaments (actin) such as desmosomes and hemidesmosomes, Z-line structures and dense plaques of striated and smooth muscle. Strong positive reaction is also found with endothelia, fibroblasts and infiltrating cells (e.g. lymphocytes).
Specificity Immunohistochemistry: 1:100 to 1:200; Paraffin embedded tissue: 1:100; Western Blotting: 1:8,000 (ECL)
