Description Bovine Protein MRVI1 (MRVI1) ELISA Kit has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Bovine MRVI1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Bovine MRVI1 and analogues was observed. Protein MRVI1 (MRVI1) is similar to a putative mouse tumor suppressor gene (Mrvi1) that is frequently disrupted by mouse AIDS-related virus (MRV). MRVI1, which is found in the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum, is similar to Jaw1, a lymphoid-restricted protein whose expression is down-regulated during lymphoid differentiation. MRVI1 is a substrate of cGMP-dependent kinase-1 (PKG1) that can function as a regulator of IP3-induced calcium release. Studies in mouse suggest that MRV integration at Mrvi1 induces myeloid leukemia by altering the expression of a gene important for myeloid cell growth and/or differentiation, and thus MRVI1 may function as a myeloid leukemia tumor suppressor gene. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for MRVI1, and alternative translation start sites, including a non-AUG (CUG) start site, are used. This Bovine Protein MRVI1 (MRVI1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MRVI1 in samples. An antibody specific for MRVI1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMRVI1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MRVI1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MRVI1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
