More Information
Product Name Desmin Monoclonal Antibody
Description Desmin is a muscle-specific class III intermediate filament. Homopolymers of this protein form a stable intracytoplasmic filamentous network connecting myofibrils to each other and to the plasma membrane. Diseases associated with DES include Myopathy, Myofibrillar, 1 and Scapuloperoneal Syndrome, Neurogenic, Kaeser Type. Among its related pathways are Aurora B signaling and Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC).Desmin is a member of the intermediate filament protein, normally distributed in smooth muscle cells, myocardial cells, skeletal muscle cells and myoepithelial cells and tumors. It is mainly used for diagnosis and differential diagnosis of uterus, skin, gastrointestinal tract and other rhabdomyosarcoma and myoepithelioma. High temperature repair can enhance the staining intensity.Desmin are class-III intermediate filaments found in muscle cells. In adult striated muscle they form a fibrous network connecting myofibrils to each other and to the plasma membrane from the periphery of the Z-line structures (PubMed:24200904, PubMed:25394388, PubMed:26724190). May act as a sarcomeric microtubule-anchoring protein: specifically associates with detyrosinated tubulin-alpha chains, leading to buckled microtubules and mechanical resistance to contraction.
