| Product Name | EliKine™ Human sICAM-1 (CD54) ELISA Kit |
|---|---|
| Description | EliKine™ Human sICAM-1 (CD54) ELISA Kit has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Human sICAM-1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human sICAM-1 and analogues was observed. ICAM-1 (Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 1) also known as CD54 (Cluster of Differentiation 54) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ICAM1 gene. ICAM-1 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, the superfamily of proteins including antibodies and T-cell receptors. ICAM-1 is a transmembrane protein possessing an amino-terminus extracellular domain, a single transmembrane domain, and a carboxy-terminus cytoplasmic domain. The structure of ICAM-1 is characterized by heavy glycosylation, and the protein’s extracellular domain is composed of multiple loops created by disulfide bridges within the protein. EliKine™ Human sICAM-1 (CD54) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate Human sICAM-1 in samples. An antibody specific for Human sICAM-1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any Human sICAM-1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human sICAM-1 detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human sICAM-1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. |
