| Description | Endothelial lipase (EL) is a member of the triacylglyceride lipase family, which is synthesized by vascular endothelial cells (ref. 1-4). Experiments in engineered mice with a disrupted native EL locus as well as those in mice overexpressing human EL have revealed an inverse relationship between the plasma HDL-C leveland EL expression (ref. 2, 5). Also, previous studies have shown that plasma EL mass was inversely associated with HDL-C concentrations in humans (ref. 6, 7). Based on these observations, EL is expected to be an attractive pharmacological target for raising HDL-C levels and preventing atherosclerosis. This ELISA kit can measure concentration of EL in serum or plasma sample sregardless of heparin administration (ref. 8). This kit is a solid phase sandwich ELISA using 2 kinds of highly specific antibodies. Tetra Methyl Benzidine (TMB) is used as a coloring agent (Chromogen). The strength of coloring is proportional to the quantities of Human Endothelial Lipase. |
