More Information
Product Name IRBP (1-20) (human)
Description IRBP (1-20) (human) is the 1 to 20 amino acid N-terminal fragment of the interphotoreceptor retinoid binding protein (IRBP). IRBP, also known as retinol binding protein-3 (RBP-3), is a 1264 amino acid residue glycolipoprotein residing in the interphotoreceptor matrix where it is the major extracellular retinoid-binding protein. IRBP is often the target of autoimmune attack and this is one of the leading causes of uveitis. IRBP peptide (1-20) (human) contains a major epitope for the H-2b haplotype and immunization with IRBP (1–20) (human) induces T-cell–mediated experimental autoimmune uveoretinitis (EAU), a widely used rodent model of human disease.
