| Notes | p27, also known as cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1B (CDNK1B), is a kinase inhibitor that controls cell cycle progression.1-4 p27 is involved in G1 phase arrest and obstructs cell entry into the S phase by binding to and inhibiting cyclin E-CDK2, effectively slowing or stopping the cell division cycle.1-4 p27 is broadly expressed in normal tissue but can be dysfunctional in neoplastic tissue and, therefore, not expressed. |
