More Information
Product Name N-cadherin Monoclonal Antibody
Description N- cadherin is a Ca2+ dependent transmembrane glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 140 kDa, which can promote and protection the cell adhesion. It is reported that N- cadherin express in many tissues, such as neurons, endothelial cells, muscle cells and some early hematopoietic progenitor cells. N- cadherin may also express in tissues of non-epithelial malignant tumors, including malignant mesothelioma, synovial sarcoma, malignant melanoma, epithelioid sarcoma, epithelioid angiosarcoma and clear cell sarcoma. Ovarian serous tumors and endometrial cancer are positive expression of N-cadherin, while ovarian mucinous tumor is negative expression of N-cadherin. N-cadherin is also expressed in renal cell carcinoma, medullary carcinoma of breast and carcinoma sareomatodes. This antibody can be used as one of index for identification of celiothelioma and adenocarcinoma.Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. Acts as a regulator of neural stem cells quiescence by mediating anchorage of neural stem cells to ependymocytes in the adult subependymal zone: upon cleavage by MMP24, CDH2-mediated anchorage is affected, leading to modulate neural stem cell quiescence. CDH2 may be involved in neuronal recognition mechanism. In hippocampal neurons, may regulate dendritic spine density (By similarity).
