| Description | Nafamostat mesylate is a serine protease inhibitor. It inhibits a large number of Lys/Arg specific serine proteinases, and is also a tryptase inhibitor. In vivo nafamostat is a fast-acting proteolytic inhibitor and used during hemodialysis to prevent the proteolysis of fibrinogen into fibrin. Nafamostat also has some antiviral and anti-cancer properties and has been identified as a potential treatment for COVID-19. |
