More Information
Product Name Anti-Cytokeratin/Keratin Type II, Monoclonal Antibody, FITC
Description Type II keratins (or Type II cytokeratins) constitutes the Type II intermediate filaments (IFs) of the intracytoplasmatic cytoskeleton, which is present in all mammalian epithelial cells. The type 2 cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral, high molecular weight proteins which in vivo are arranged in pairs of heterotypic Type I and Type II keratin chains, coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. Polypeptide reacting: Mr 53 000 to Mr 67 000 basic type II keratin polypeptides of human epithelial proteins (keratins ‰â‰ÛÏ formerly also designated cytokeratins - nos. K1 ‰â‰ÛÏ K8). Epitope has been mapped to aa 266-299 on alpha-helical rod domain. Ks pan 1-8 represents an excellent marker for distinguishing carcinomas from non-epithelial tumors. Polypeptides reacting: Mr 52 500 - Mr 68 000 keratins (type II keratins K1 - K8; formerly also designated cytokeratins 1 - 8) of human epithelial cells.
