| Description | Bovine Matrix metalloproteinase-14 (MMP14) ELISA Kit has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Bovine MMP14. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Bovine MMP14 and analogues was observed. Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. The enzyme encoded by this gene degrades type IV and V collagens. Studies in rhesus monkeys suggest that the enzyme is involved in IL-8-induced mobilization of hematopoietic progenitor cells from bone marrow, and murine studies suggest a role in tumor-associated tissue remodeling.MMP14 (Matrix Metallopeptidase 14) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with MMP14 include Winchester Syndrome and Multicentric Osteolysis, Nodulosis, And Arthropathy.Seems to specifically activate progelatinase A. May thus trigger invasion by tumor cells by activating progelatinase A on the tumor cell surface. May be involved in actin cytoskeleton reorganization by cleaving PTK7. Acts as a positive regulator of cell growth and migration via activation of MMP15. Involved in the formation of the fibrovascular tissues in association with pro-MMP2. This Bovine Matrix metalloproteinase-14 (MMP14) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MMP14 in samples. An antibody specific for MMP14 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMMP14 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MMP14 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MMP14 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. |
