| Description | Canine Matrix metalloproteinase 9/Gelatinase B (MMP9) ELISA Kit has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Canine MMP9. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Canine MMP9 and analogues was observed. Matrix metallopeptidase 9 (MMP-9), also known as 92 kDa type IV collagenase, 92 kDa gelatinase or gelatinase B (GELB), is a matrixin, a class of enzymes that belong to the zinc-metalloproteinases family involved in the degradation of the extracellular matrix. In humans the MMP9 gene encodes for a signal peptide, a propeptide, a catalytic domain with inserted three repeats of fibronectin type II domain followed by a C-terminal hemopexin-like domain. This Canine Matrix metalloproteinase 9/Gelatinase B (MMP9) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MMP9 in samples. An antibody specific for MMP9 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMMP9 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MMP9 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MMP9 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. |
