| Product Name | EliKine™ Human Resistin ELISA Kit |
|---|---|
| Description | EliKine™ Human Resistin ELISA Kit has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Human Resistin. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human Resistin and analogues was observed. RETN gene belongs to the family defined by the mouse resistin-like genes. The characteristic feature of this family is the C-terminal stretch of 10 cys residues with identical spacing. The mouse homolog of this protein is secreted by adipocytes, and may be the hormone potentially linking obesity to type II diabetes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for RETN gene. . EliKine™ Human Resistin ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate Resistin in samples. An antibody specific for Resistin has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any Resistin present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for Resistin is added to the wells. After washing, proprietary EliKine™ Streptavidin-HRP conjugates is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound streptavidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Resistin bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. |
